My girls were born 3 days shy of 7 years apart!  So around this time of year we do a lot of partying with the kiddos.  Today, we're celebrating another birthday.  But this is not just any birthday, this too is a special birthday.  It's Arlie's "Golden" birthday.  She's turning 8 on the 8th but not only that, she's also starting her first day at our vocational training class at church.  Since the day she was born, we've been preparing her for times like this, moments when she will learn to spread her wings at the beginning of each new chapter in her life.  And this chapter has been a long time coming, she has been counting down the days for as long as I can remember.  In fact, I clearly remember her saying at her 6th birthday, "2 more years, Mom, 2 more years".  So, ready or not (for me, that is) today's a big day for her.  It's time for me to let go and realize this is another stage of her growing up.  May you soar, Arlie-Moo!  I'll be anxious to hear about your first day at class!  Love you forever!

I think she's ready for class, she came walking in the kitchen Saturday morning and said "Mom, take a picture and post it on facebook so everybody will know I'm gonna be there Monday".
